Re-post: Waiting on Wednesday (31)

Waiting on Wednesday weekly event that spotlights upcoming-releases that bloggers are most excited about.  This week’s I-can’t-wait book is: Landline by Rainbow Rowell .  Landline will be released on July 8, 2014 by St. Martin’s Press.

About the Book

Georgie McCool knows her marriage is in trouble. That it’s been in trouble for a long time. She still loves her husband, Neal, and Neal still loves her, deeply — but that almost seems besides the point now.

Maybe that was always besides the point.

Two days before they’re supposed to visit Neal’s family in Omaha for Christmas, Georgie tells Neal that she can’t go. She’s a TV writer, and something’s come up on her show; she has to stay in Los Angeles. She knows that Neal will be upset with her — Neal is always a little upset with Georgie — but she doesn’t expect to him to pack up the kids and go home without her.

When her husband and the kids leave for the airport, Georgie wonders if she’s finally done it. If she’s ruined everything.

That night, Georgie discovers a way to communicate with Neal in the past. It’s not time travel, not exactly, but she feels like she’s been given an opportunity to fix her marriage before it starts . . .

Is that what she’s supposed to do?

Or would Georgie and Neal be better off if their marriage never happened? (From

Why I’m Waiting

I gotta tell you, I didn’t even look at the synopsis on this one before putting it on my TBR list.  There is no doubt Rainbow Rowell is on of my favorite authors, and I would just as happily read her grocery list as I would E&P or Fangirl.

But I’ve got to say, the premise is FASCINATING! Life is tough and having a chance to look back on that life, the choices you made, and rediscover why it is you chose it in the first place — well, let’s say I’m quite interesting in seeing how it all plays out.

  1. I’m so excited for this! I love that cover. After finally reading Fangirl, I devoured Attachments and I’m hoping to get E&P in soon! Wonderful pick! Thanks for sharing.

Here’s my WOW at Bookmunchies (:

    • All her covers are quite adorable. I like how the two adult books (Landline & Attachments) and the two YA books (Fangirl & E&P) match in the art type. I hope that makes sense!

E&P is sooooooooooo fantastic! I hope you get to enjoy it soon :0

Lovely words from lovely people!
