One Tiny Lie

By K.A. Tucker

From Goodreads.com:

Livie has always been the stable one of the two Cleary sisters, handling her parents’ tragic death and Kacey’s self-destructive phase with strength and maturity. But underneath that exterior is a little girl hanging onto the last words her father ever spoke to her. “Make me proud,” he had said. She promised she would…and she’s done her best over the past seven years with every choice, with every word, with every action.

Livie walks into Princeton with a solid plan, and she’s dead set on delivering on it: Rock her classes, set herself up for medical school, and meet a good, respectable guy that she’s going to someday marry. What isn’t part of her plan are Jell-O shots, a lovable, party animal roommate she can’t say ‘no’ to, and Ashton, the gorgeous captain of the men’s rowing team. Definitely him. He’s an arrogant ass who makes Livie’s usually non-existent temper flare and everything she doesn’t want in a guy. Worse, he’s best friends and roommates with Connor, who happens to fits Livie’s criteria perfectly. So why does she keep thinking about Ashton?

As Livie finds herself facing mediocre grades, career aspirations she no longer thinks she can handle, and feelings for Ashton that she shouldn’t have, she’s forced to let go of her last promise to her father and, with it, the only identity that she knows.

Why I Can’t Wait:

Ten Tiny Breaths was the first new adult book I ever read, and quite frankly it kind of spoiled me on the genre.  The book was fascinating, well-written, and emotional.  I was SO excited when I heard the author was putting out another book from the sister, Livie’s point of view.  I think this book has a lot of potential to be just as amazing as the first book was.  Needless to say, this is one that I CAN NOT WAIT for!

So, what book are YOU waiting on?

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

    • I didn’t either until it popped up on Amazon one day. The first book ended in a way that it could have easily been a stand-alone. I was shocked until I read the synopsis and then knew I had to read it.

Thanks for stopping by and I’ll have to check your WOW out!

  1. Ten Tiny Breaths is on my TBR pile, I keep putting off reading it because I’ve heard so many AMAZING things about it and once it’s read it’s read. So I’m waiting to use it to dig myself out of one of my occasional reading funks. I’m so happy for the author that the series is being picked up by a big publishing house now, sounds like she deserves it! Also that means many more books from her to come in future, yey!

    • I completely know what you mean. I have SEVERAL in my tbr pile for that reason! And yes, I love her story of being picked up, so cool.

      Thanks for stopping by 🙂

    • Haha, yes I love reading series! I was really surprised at how good it was. And I love that the author was picked up after self-pubbing. Very cool. Thanks for stopping by!

Lovely words from lovely people!
