Top Ten Tuesday (21)

It’s Top 10 Tuesday (hosted at The Broke and the Bookish) and the topic is:

Top Ten Sequels I Can’t Wait To Get My Hands On

Halloween is almost here!  This spooky season isn’t just about costumes and candy… it’s also about all those things that go bump in the night.  Here are ten books (or series) that get me in the Halloween spirit!

Top Ten Sequels I Can’t Wait To Get My Hands On

Before blogging, I pretty much timed my book reading around new releases.  Now, in a world of ARCs and blog tours, I don’t always get to read books right when they come out.  In reverse SOMETIMES I get to read books before they come out.  All this to say, my time table is a bit off.  Therefore, I’ve divided my list into (5) books that have yet to come out and (5) that I own, but haven’t been able to read yet.  Enjoy!

Sequels I Can’t WAIT To Be Released

Infinite-front-final (1)

1. Infinite by Jodi Meadows

I just LOVE this series — luckily I was able to read book one and two back to back.  However, I’ve had to wait since February to get this one in my hands.

ignite me

2. Ignite Me by Tahereh Mafi

I ordered Shattered Me the day it came out, so it seems like I’ve been waiting for this one FOREVER.

3. These Broken Stars (2) by Meagan Spooner & Amie Kaufman

Because I’m a newsletter subscriber, I got a sneak peak of the title and synopsis of this one.  Even though it hasn’t been released, I’m already obsessively waiting for book two.  This is my FAVORITE book of the year and one I definitely recommend you consider picking up!

retributionofmaradyer

4. The Retribution of Mara Dyer by Michelle Hodkin

Book two ended on such a whammy, that I was anxious to get this one.  Of course, the publishing date got pushed back so we are all in the waiting indefinitely boat on this one.

5. City of Heavenly Beings by Cassandra Clare

Admittedly, I got to this one late in the game.  I started reading in March when EVERYONE kept gushing over Clockwork Princess.  I was advised to read The Mortal Instrument series first (which I did) and quickly fell in love with the story.  I’m ready to see how it all goes down with Jace and Clary.  Just a few more months!

evertrue

*BONUS* Evertrue by Brodi Ashton

This was my WoW this week, so obviously that tells you I’m pretty excited about it!

Sequels I OWN But Can’t Wait to Read

crownofmidnight2

1. Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas

I got the e-book the day it came out (on pre-order) and actually lamented over not getting an ARC.  But then, life got in the way and so I’ve been saving it for a rainy day.  I know how amazing it is going to be and I think I just don’t want to rush into it.

Bitter kingdom

2. The Bitter Kingdom by Rae Carson

Basically, copy and paste the above statement.  CAN NOT WAIT. I have no idea why I haven’t made time for it.  Oh yeah, because I do actually need sleep.

horde

3. Horde by Ann Aguirre

This one just came out last week, so admittedly, I’m not *that* behind, but hopefully I won’t take as much time as the other two.

infinity

4. InfinityGlass by Myra McEntire

Again, time. Read above. It pretty much just fits this entire list.

5. Champion by Marie Lu

This one comes out TODAY, so I’m not really holding out.  Can not wait to see how it all plays out!

So, that’s it.  What about you?  What setting did you pick this week?

  1. YES YES YES! To so many of these haha. I NEED RETRIBUTION RIGHT NOW!!!! I’ve been going absolutely mad waiting for it! And you need read CoM asap – it’s tied for my favourite read of the year at the moment. I have so many mixed feelings on Ann Aguirre’s trilogy, but it’s more moral issues and less story/writing issues, so I’m still excited to get into the last book! And the Everneath series might be against everything I believe in as a reader, but the series is SO FREAKING ADDICTING. So I’m finishing it. Pride be damned.

  2. heck yeah horde!! that’s what i like to see! i have my copy, but need to read it asap!! was debating on whether or not to reread the other 2! you have so many on here i’m super excited to read!!

    • I am definitely going to need to reread the first two… It’s been so long and so many books, that I only remember the general story line. But that is probably also why I haven’t started yet, because it is going to be three books of reading.

  3. Ooooh your list is so interesting! Honestly, I haven’t read a lot of these series, and honestly, I have long been meaning to! Gets me pretty excited ❤ As for Ignite Me, I am SOOO ready. It's probably the one I'm anticipating the most. I really need to get started on these series XD Great list Jess!! 😀

  4. I desperately need The Retribution of Mara Dyer. It’s been too long. I need my Noah fix. Now. Gah. And of course, I can’t wait to read City of Heavenly Fire! Ahhh! 😀

I should really get my butt into gear and post this week’s TTT 😉

  5. YES!! There are so many great ones you mentioned! I can’t wait to read Infinite, Mara Dyer, Ignite Me and Champion too! Good thing that I already bought a copy of Champion today. One less, million more to go LOL. Thanks for stopping by 🙂

  6. Infinite, Ignite Me, Retribution, City of Heavenly Fire…all of those were on my list too! And I read Horde last week and it was so good, one of the best series enders I’ve read. And I just finished Champion and I loved it! (Still processing, which is why I can’t go to bed yet) Great list!

    • You are kicking my butt girl! Haha, I was going to go to bed last night, but this comment got me motivated to get going on Champion. Your “processing” comment does make me concerned though, LOL. I would have gone with Horde, but I have to start over with the series, and I just read Prodigy in Feb.

  7. I have to read These Broken Stars first before I can join the hype. 😛
As for Crown of Midnight, I know what you mean. I want to wait until I’m in the mood for cherishing and loving it.
I sadly still have to read Unravel Me.
Great list & thanks for stopping by my TTT! (:

Lovely words from lovely people!
