Super Six Sunday (15)

Super Six Sunday is an original bookish meme created by Bewitched Bookworms and inspired by “Top Ten Tuesday” from The Broke and The Bookish .

Today’s topic is:

Super 6 Books of 2013

I read a LOT of books this year.  And luckily I have SO many favorites.  To narrow it down to six is going to be *reeeeeally* hard.  But, here goes.

six

Wild Awake

This book was a roller-coaster of crazy and I loved every minute of it.  It was beautiful, exhilarating, and maddening all at the same time.  I couldn’t get it out of my head for days and definitely look forward to more from this author.

John Green’s review of E&P, along with the adorable cover, caused me to drive all over town and buy this book.  I still remember the day I read it, armed with sticky notes and highlighters.  I’m pretty sure I highlighted more of the book than I left unhighlighted.   That my friends is the mark of a good book.

The Girl of Fire and Thorns / Crown of Embers

These books were another I got on sale and couldn’t believe I had waited so long to pick up. Rae Carson is an amazing author and has created an amazing world.  I can’t wait to read The Bitter Kingdom and see how it all ends!

three

Throne of Glass

I know I haven’t read Crown of Midnight (starting today!), but this book just sucked me in and left me speechless.  If you haven’t read it, you must pick it up ASAP!

two

incarnate asunder

Incarnate/Asunder

I’m never going to stop talking about Kindle deals.  Why?  Well, if it weren’t for Incarnate being on sale for a whopping $2.99, I never would have picked up this AMAZING series.  It is one of my favorites, and Infinite is my most anticipated book of 2014.

These Broken Stars

There is absolutely nothing I don’t love about this book. It will probably be number one on a lot of lists… so get used to it!

Honorable Mentions

Okay, I couldn’t keep it to six.  Here are a few others that are worth mentioning.

  1. Unravel Me and Throne of Glass definitely make my list of top six books of 2013. It is so hard to choose just a few! I do have to add All the Truth That’s In Me, The Coldest Girl in Coldtown, and The F-It List to my favorites of 2013. I haven’t read These Broken Stars yet, though it seems like it is getting glowing reviews so I am sure that I will be reading it in no time.

    • Those are three I haven’t read yet! I have Coldest Girl, but I need to buy the other two.

And yes, TBS is just, ahh ❤

It was really hard to choose six… And I guess I didn't really, haha 🙂

  2. Unravel Me was my best read of the year and I can’t wait for the third book. It seems everyone is loving These Broken Stars so now I can’t wait to get a copy of that book. I didn’t get why everyone loved Eleanor and Park though, I tried to read it and stopped after about 150 pages. The story just fell flat for me but I’m glad you loved it.

Lovely words from lovely people!
