Why I’m Waiting
This book sounds extremely fascinating and honestly I think it could quite possibly my next favorite read. This lovely book touches on literary science fiction with a feminist twist, and it explores themes of choice, agency, rebellion, and family.
Ava is a teenage girl stuck in a male-dominate society aboard a deep space merchant boat…intrigued yet? because I know I am. To be honest, it sounds like it may have a little Ender’s Game feel to it and I can’t wait to read it (have I said that enough already—sorry, I am just really excited to read this book). Plus have the cover art is just enticing with all the blues and whites—it’s simple beautiful.
I have no doubt that this debut novel is going to be a MAJOR hit.
Get It!

So, what book are YOU waiting for this week?
“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
I just got this on Edelweiss, I can’t wait to read it either. I’m in for the feminism more than anything else. I hope it’s going to be a hit too. Fingers crossed.
Aly @ My Heart Hearts Books My WoW
I’ve read several really good reviews on this book, so I think you might be right! It does sound amazing, and I love the cover too:) Here’s my WOW.
Yeah, I am so so excited for it! Especially because it’s huge and sometimes those can be absolute goldmines
My Wow
Yes to everything you said! 🙂 I could seriously sit and stare at it for ages, too. Great pick!
Bold comparison in The Handmaid’s Tale! It certainly sounds like a promising read though.
Thank you beautiful readers! The cover art is seriously something I would hang on my wall like a teenage and her band posters–it’s just crazy gorgeous. But yes, I very much cannot wait to get my hands on the binds and sink myself into the pages.
Oh Loren, you know you’ve got that One Direction poster over your bed. 😉
I wish I could “Like” that comment…that made me laugh, haha 🙂
Oops, I think I commented on one of your older WoW posts. *shrugs* The being-around-all-men is very interesting and if it’s sort of like Across the Universe than I’ll probably love it 😀
My WoW 🙂
We actually had two this week, so you’re good!
And oh man – Across the Universe = ❤ ❤ ❤
Wow, Jess–I think I like your description of the book more than the actual blurb! I had this on my TBR list already, but hearing you talk about “literary scifi with a feminist twist” makes me WAY more interested, hah.
